How To Win Every Argument: 3 Useful Tips To Come Out On Top Of Any Argument
By Michael Lee

You win some, you lose some. That's what they always say. But why would you resign yourself to this idea when you can learn how to win every argument that comes your way; or at least, increase the odds of your victory every time?

In this article, I'm going to show you how to win every argument using certain techniques in persuasion and assertiveness. You might already be familiar with some of them, but a little review never hurt anybody.

Tip # 1 On How To Win Any Argument: Be Prepared.

When you know that you're going to get into an argument, be sure to prepare as much as you can. You probably already have an idea of how the whole thing is going to flow, right?

Say, for example, you want to talk to your boss about a possible raise. Think about how your boss would react to your request. Prepare a table of an excel presentation of why he or she should give you a raise. Research about inflation and other economical factors and you won't be manipulated too easily.

At the very least, your boss will be impressed with how efficiently you defended yourself.

Tip # 2 On How To Win Any Argument: Present Evidence.

Evidence can take many forms, but keep in mind that people often respond to facts and figures.

If you want to win an argument over which product is better, be ready to come up with accurate facts to back you up. For example, what features does it have that the opposing product doesn't have? How many millions of people have bought the said product?

Always present evidence that is positive for you side, and be careful not to let your opponent take advantage of what you have to say.

Tip # 3 On How To Win Any Argument: Stay Balanced.

People can be quite adamant and stubborn about their own views. And they might expect you to be the same as well. However, you can't always win by forcing your way through.

That's why presenting a more or less balanced point of view is key. Of course, you can lean a bit more to the side you're rooting for. However, having a balanced view weakens your opponent's resolve and might even persuade them to switch teams.

There are many ways on how to win every argument. However, your success also has a lot to do with how much you believe in yourself. If you go into battle thinking you're going to lose, then you most probably will. So go out there with your head held high and win that argument!
